What To Bring

Programme of Activities/Themed Weeks:

The weekly programme will be uploaded to the web site here on Thursday for the following week of the scheme. Please note this is subject to change based on availability of coaches, weather and any changes due to covid mitigations.

Swimming

All groups will have swimming included in their weekly programme. On Weeks 1, 2 and 5, swimming will be included every day. On Weeks 3, 4, 6 & 7, swimming will be included 3 days a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Please ensure your child is prepared with the correct kit for swimming which must also include a swim cap. If your child has no swim cap, they will not be able to participate in the swim session that day.

Clothing

It is anticipated this year that there will be more outdoor activities at our venues. Clothing should always be weather dependent, but it is recommended that the following items are brought each day (preferably with nametags)
- Shorts – track bottoms, baseball cap
- Trainers
- T-Shirt
- Rain Jacket (for outdoor activities)
- Towel
- Underwear and Swimwear (there may be unexpected changes to the timetable)
- Swimming caps must be worn and are available from reception for £2.05 each.
-Water Bottle
-Lunch and healthy snacks for breaks

Refreshments / Water/ Lunch / Tuck Shop –
Unfortunately there will be no Tuck shop this year and access to water fountains is also not permitted. Please ensure you child has enough water to keep hydrated during the day particularly as many activities will be outdoor this year. There are some vending machines throughout the building that children may access for water, snacks and soft drinks only. Clements will still be providing a lunch menu and will be open during drop off and pick up times. For further information click here for Clements lunch and snack menu and details on ordering.

Seniors will have the opportunity to leave the premises for their lunch with consent. If you wish for your child to be able to do this, please follow this link to give your consent for your child to leave the centre during their lunch break.

Medication

Please inform the Scheme coordinator if your child requires medication during the day. Please ensure your child has sunscreen with them for hot days during the scheme.

Locker Provision

There will be no locker provision this year and bags will be left in a designated area in the main and minor hall. Queen's Sport does not accept responsibility for the loss of property, valuable items, or money.

Code of Conduct/Covid Protocols

At Queen's Sport we aim to provide a safe, secure and enjoyable environment where children can learn sport and take part in enjoyable physical activity. Throughout the scheme staff and coaches will work in partnership with parents to safeguard children and to promote good practice at all times. We would ask that parents work with staff to ensure their children follow the covid protocols and code of conduct. If your child is found to be acting inappropriately and the situation cannot be resolved by our staff and children involved, then your child will be asked to leave the scheme. No refund will be available in these circumstances.

Refunds

Please note that due to the high demand for places at our summer scheme refunds will only be issued under health or other extenuating circumstances.

For any general enquiries please email courseenquires@qub.ac,uk or summerscheme@qub.ac.uk .

We look forward to welcoming your child(ren) to this year's Summer Scheme at Queen's Sport.
